In order to ensure total peace of mind for our customers we have produced this Privacy Notice as a way of telling you how we use the information relating to you that we collect and store.
This information may include personal details such as your name, postal/delivery address and telephone number, the date of purchase, the goods you purchase from us and the cost to you.
Why we gather your information.

- To place orders with our suppliers on your behalf
- To respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us.
- To contact you should we have any problem in processing your order
How we gather your information
Your order with us is hand written in triplicate before you, using the information you provide. The Top copy is given to you and is your written receipt. The middle copy is kept by us and used to place and track your order with our suppliers. The bottom copy remains in the order book. At this point your details are never shared with our suppliers.
Occasionally you may wish to provide information to us about a person other than yourself, e.g. to arrange for somebody else to be present for delivery of the furniture.
You must ensure that they understand how their information will be used and that they have given their permission for you to disclose it to us and for you to allow us to use it for the purposes discussed with you.
What we use your information for:
- To track orders placed by us with our suppliers on your behalf.
- To notify you should any problem arise with your order
- To notify you that your goods have arrived with us.
- To deliver your purchases to you. All deliveries are performed by our own company employees.
How we store your information.
Following delivery the order details are recorded by us onto our computer using the pink copy we retained at the time of purchase. The details copied to the computer are: Name, postal/delivery address and telephone Number, the date of purchase, the goods you purchase from us and the cost to you. The pink copy and the completed order book is then manually filed and stored by us.
Why we store this information
This is used purely by us to assist you with any future enquiries and/or to aid should you have lost your original receipt.
This information is held indefinitely in order that we may continue to provide an ongoing personal service to our customers at any time in the future.
Sharing information with a third party
Only in the case of the following events is your information shared with a third party:
Should an issue arise we will always attempt to rectify the problem ourselves, however on some occasions it may be necessary to contact our suppliers and request their assistance, at which point we will share your name and address details with them who will use this only for providing you with the repair service.
If you buy a Stainguard Furniture care plan from us. Your information will be shared with them in order that they can implement your plan and send you the relevant information.
If you request a fabric sample from us then we may share your name and address details with our furniture suppliers who will only use this for providing you with this sample.
You may be eligible to exemption from VAT in relation to a disability. In which case, we will ask you to complete a hand written declaration relating to your physical or mental health; in order to make arrangements requested by you
We never :
- share or use your information for marketing purposes.
- Store in any form any financial details given to us.
You have a right to:
- See what data we hold about you,
- Request that we change/correct or delete any data we have about you.
- Express any concern you have about our use of your data.
